When my credit rating turned ugly. . .
From the get go, my score was great, I never had a problem getting credit for my new car, my first house. However being young and not having a nest egg, one bad car accident turned everything up side down! I was still able to obtain approval's for credit - however my payments were considerably larger than they had been in the past. My pay being the same - this was a horrible situation to be in. I still owed a rather large balance after the insurance payout, and was advised to file bankruptcy by my divorce attorney. As soon as the reality of the larger payments and difficulty obtaining credit set in, I did everything I could to change my circumstances. Consulted with many professionals. . . spend endless hours on the telephone getting the proper information on how to change my situation around.
How I scrambled to find straight forward information.
Along the way I kept plenty of notes and shared what I could to help other people I knew raise their credit scores as well. I was a single mother selling real estate in the hopes that I would have more time for my kids than I would working a traditional 9-5 job. I used the information that I acquired to help my clients to the point that I was helping my clients get their credit reports to a satisfactory level to be approved for a home loan, and spending more time doing it than actually selling houses! I transferred my expertise over and started a new beginning in the same industry, writing home loans.
Over the past 15 years working in the Real Estate and Mortgage Industry myself, my colleagues, and clients have faced many obstacles that prevent individuals and families from purchasing their own homes. This web site is a compilation of the strategies we have been teaching our clients to build their credit reports and enable them to become homeowners.
I started by making a simple pamphlet addressing some of the most common credit dilemmas that I encountered, as time progressed my list of remedies for situations that had surfaced grew into a full grown manual that walked clients through the process of repairing or building their credit no matter what situation they found themselves in.
I understood their frustration, as when I started trying to find answers to my own problems in the beginning, I found mostly sales of kits or services to help people repair their credit. (Most were 'guaranteed' run around's! I had a hard time finding any solid information, and guidance on what needed to be done. As I received comment after comment thanking me for the help my booklet provided, I started to look at the larger picture, and turn it into a web site that even more people could utilize. The web site grew and continues to grow as new situations arise that need to have straight forward answers, but the booklet with the spread sheets in a format clients could have right there with them seemed to produce much better results. I have dealt with some not so great companies along the way, and I have dealt with some awesome companies along the way. The items and services you see listed on my site are recommended by myself or one of my clients who have received first hand service, and were pleased with the service they received.
